Avalanche

In the avalanche winter of 1951, a huge avalanche came down on this slope. Schoolchildren from Zernez then reforested the avalanche path with young larch trees.

This would not happen in an avalanche in the Swiss National Park. Here we leave everything to the dynamic processes of nature. Because there are also plants and animals that are dependent on newly created habitats. Do you see any other avalanche paths in the landscape?

This is what it looked like in 1951 after the avalanche.
